My apologies for the most recent entry to come from my journal. My wife brought it to the hospital on Saturday night, so that I would have it to contact her on Sunday if necessary, while she was at the wedding -- and Joanna, Rufus, congratulations, I am sorry to have missed the ceremony -- and while I was asleep and Lis had stepped out, my darling children found the journal and decided to write in it.

I believe I have found the most perfect interrogation technique that the DMLE is not using: forcing suspects to drink the departmental coffee. After three cups of this within the hour, I'm ready to say or do just about anything to avoid having to drink any more.

As there has been much going on since it was announced at the beginning of the year, I thought it might do well to remind everyone of the new rules governing international travel, which go into effect tomorrow. And which was never brought before the Wizengamot at all. Got to love a Minister who decides to make her own legislation whenever she wants.
Starting tomorrow, any citizen who wishes to travel outside of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland will be required to provide proof of citizenship in the form of their government-issued ID cards. Citizens of Great Britain and Ireland will likewise be required to show their IDs when returning from travel abroad.
The purpose of these new rules is to ensure more accurate records are kept of travel into and out of the country. Now that everyone has their new IDs, it is possible for this to be implemented now.
